We are waking up into a new day.  I’m so glad that Obama had such a decisive victory, taking several traditionally Republican states.  It’s important that all Americans realize that Obama was carried to the White House by more than the African American vote.  He’s the right president for this time in our history, regardless of his race.

I was moved to see Jesse Jackson’s tears.  I can’t imagine all the struggles and violence he has witnessed, just trying to get basic civil rights…and now an African American has been taken to the White House with a strong base of support across all kinds of people. It’s no wonder the moment was full of emotion for him, and us.

They say it’s the economy that people were most concerned with when they voted, but I can’t help thinking that this is a repudiation of the Republicans, and especially Bush and Cheney, for conducting an unreasonable war in Iraq that has mired our resources there under false pretenses.

I’m ready for change; are you?
